JWs' Letter to Dateline
by jschwehm ini just got a copy of the society's letter to dateline as to why they would not agree to an on-camera interview.. they said that since dateline told them that most of the people that they were interviewing considered themselves active jws, that for the headquarters to make a statement that it would make it appear as though "brother" was speaking out against "brother".
and that a nationally televised program was not the appropriate forum for them to work out their differences.
(this is interesting since the pandelos and barb have been dfed, haven't they?).

Here is the plan
by the follower inok... here is the plan.
i moved to this congregation years ago, but when i came it was the same secretary then as it is now.
when i arrived he just said "here is my address, give it to the secretary in your old congregation and tell him to send me your records.

"One more question, if you are not moving how will this work? Don't they know where you live right now?"
I will tell them that I am moving back to the congregation I was in before. I hardly ever see anyone from the congregation anyway - as long as I don't go to the meetings they will think that I'm gone.
I think they usually send a letter - yes it would be interesting!

RunningMan,
Thanks for the ideas, but what I like about my plan is that I get the secretary to send it to a friend of mine - that way I get to keep the records and no congregation anywhere has authority over me. -

I am not moving, that is the thing.
Besides, I want to have my records and at the same time make both congregations think that the other has my records. This way they will both think I am carrying on as normal at the other location, when in actual fact I am freeeeee!!!!!!!!!!

"So, your plan should not work, unless you can count on some sloppy procedures."
As I said in my original post, our local secretary is very easy going, I am hoping that this will help me to pull it off. What if I get caught though, do you think I would be disfellowshiped?
"I'm sure there's still a copy of your records at some central location"
I am sure that there is. But the beauty of my plan is that both congregations will think that the other congregation has my records. They will both think that I am the other congregation's responsibility and so - I can drift quietly away without a peep from either body of elders.
Will it work?

I know that I can ask to see my files. But that would make them suspicious, wouldn't it?
Besides, I want to have the records to myself. I don't want them to have records on me of any kind.
Anyway, the main point is that I want to belong to no congregation, so that I do not have elders anywhere breathing down my neck all the time.

OK... here is the plan.
I moved to this congregation years ago, but when I came it was the same secretary then as it is now. When I arrived he just said "here is my address, give it to the secretary in your old congregation and tell him to send me your records." This I did, and now my records are here with this congregation. Now this is my plan to get my records all to myself:
I will say to the secretary that I am moving back to my old congregation. I will tell him he has moved address though. I say, "I will give you his new address so you can send him my records." Because he was so easy going about everything when I arrived, he may go for this now. Then shall I proceed to give unto him a false address, in fact the address indeed of a friend of mine in the territory of my old congregation. My friend will get the records delivered to him, and then they will be all mine. I will then be in no congregation at all, and accountable to no body of elders.
I am throwing this plan open to all you experienced apostates because I would greatly value comments that will help me to execute it effectively. Are their any fatal flaws in my cunning plan?

Favourite Governing Body memeber?
by the follower ini have noticed that there is a tendency in this group to speak injuriously of glorious ones.
in an attempt to help us be more "balanced" in this regard i invite all to share which governing body members they like.
who is your favourite governing body member?
